Gettysburg Eddie’s ~ Gettysburg, PA

Gettysburg, PA ~ Home of some the most interesting history in the U.S. Many tourists from all over visit this small town annually. I stumbled upon a great little spot for lunch called Gettysburg Eddie’s while traveling for work. Named after a local legend on the baseball diamond ~ Eddie Plank. A grand slam of a Chili Dog was my choice and they really knocked it out of the park! A quaint local place with tv’s at the bar for the games and a fun staff! Cheers!

Toasted Owl ~ Flagstaff, AZ

Located in beautiful Flagstaff, AZ you will find this Unique Hidden Gem. A cafe with both inside and outside seating that serves just breakfast and lunch closing by 3pm. A friendly and attentive staff with quite the eclectic decor makes this a special place. There are three of them in Flagstaff so I struggled to decide if this classifies as a gem. The deciding factor, minus the amazing Bloody Mary, is that everything in the cafe is for sale! From tables to bar stools to lights, and all that is able to be picked up or removed from the walls! What better way to take part of a hidden gem than to purchase it for your own place!

Mac’s Market ~ Tyrone, PA

I stumbled upon this Unique Hidden Gem in the late summer of 2025 after a full morning of work in a close by quarry. Hungry and ready to continue the day, myself and one of my colleagues needed a good place for a quick meal that was off the beaten path. A simple search led us to Mac’s Market! A local favorite that opened in 1974, it was evident from the start we made a great selection. Friendly staff, great selections, a deli counter, and homemade soups. I chose the Premium Turkey Hoagie. Packed full of meat and added touches of choices of peppers made this a lunch special I didn‘t regret. They offer inside and outside seating and everyone welcomed us “outsiders” with a welcome hello. Stop in, enjoy a sandwich, get yourself a soup to go. Cheers!

Penn’s Table ~ West Chester, PA

If you have ever visited West Chester, PA you immediately realize there are a lot of Unique Hidden Gems you could choose to have a breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a few cocktails. On a recent college visit, I was able to take my wife and one daughter to fill our appetite after touring the campus. We came upon, Penn’s Table as it had all options for us. Breakfast for one, lunch for one, and an adult beverage for another! My choice was the, Screamin’ Willy Penn: an awesome sandwich containing homemade chicken salad, on top of a bed of your typical BLT! An added taste twist was the toasted raisin bread. Great flavor, crispy bacon, and a perfect size sandwich that was accompanied with tasty fries. i washed it down with a local brewed Ale, Puddler’s Row from the Conshocken Brewing Co. An Omelette Bowl was a favorite for our daughter that included home fries mixed in. Worth your time to stop in and be waited on by a friendly and attentive staff at very bright and clean establishment. Cheers!
